Drawing on nearly three decades of construction experience, our mission has evolved beyond building homes. Today, we work to strengthen resilience, improve public health, reduce energy poverty, and create sustainable economic opportunities through innovative housing solutions designed for communities facing increasing climate risks.

While Mexico is internationally recognized for its cultural heritage and economic development, many rural and peri-urban communities continue to experience significant housing challenges. Families often live in thermally inefficient, structurally vulnerable dwellings that increase exposure to extreme heat, severe weather, and health risks while limiting educational and economic opportunities.

Our response is the ThermoHome® Community Resilient Housing Initiative, built using ThermoBlock® technology—an innovative construction system designed to improve thermal performance, reduce energy consumption, enhance structural resilience, and support sustainable community development.

The initiative seeks to establish strategic partnerships with development finance institutions, climate funds, philanthropic organizations, impact investors, academic institutions, and public authorities interested in supporting scalable housing solutions that contribute to internationally recognized sustainable development objectives.

This proposal presents an opportunity to collaborate on a practical model that integrates resilient housing, local employment, climate adaptation, and community development while generating measurable social, environmental, and economic impact.

Agundiz Design S.C. is a civil society organization dedicated to developing resilient housing and sustainable community solutions through engineering innovation, responsible governance, and collaborative partnerships.

Following a comprehensive technical assessment of housing conditions, climate risks, infrastructure needs, and long-term community resilience priorities in Ciudad Fernández, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Agundiz Design S.C. has developed the Action Together – Community Resilient ThermoHome Initiative as a scalable implementation framework.

Based on this assessment, the organization has determined that the development of 25 Community Resilient Developments, comprising 2,500 climate-resilient ThermoHomes, represents an appropriate long-term investment to strengthen housing resilience, improve public health, enhance water and energy security, create local employment, and support sustainable socioeconomic development in alignment with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The proposed program represents a total investment of USD $120,000,000, including an international financing requirement of USD $99,600,000 (83%) and an in-kind contribution of USD $20,400,000 (17%) from Agundiz Design S.C. through ThermoBlock technology, engineering, architectural design, technical leadership, project management, capacity building, and implementation support.

3. The Challeng

Community Vulnerability and the Roots of Poverty

Communities experiencing poverty often face multiple and interconnected challenges that extend beyond inadequate housing. Limited access to safe and durable shelter, exposure to extreme temperatures, water insecurity, poor construction materials, health risks, and restricted economic opportunities combine to increase vulnerability and reduce long-term resilience.

In Ciudad Fernández, San Luis Potosí, these conditions are intensified by high seasonal temperatures, climate variability, and the growing pressures on local water resources. The initiative proposes the phased development of 25 Community Resilient Housing communities, delivering 2,500 climate-resilient ThermoHomes between 2025 and 2030. Each community is planned as an integrated neighborhood where housing is combined with essential infrastructure, environmental sustainability, and opportunities for local economic growth.

Beyond the construction of homes, each Community Resilient Housing development is intended to incorporate community facilities, climate-adaptive infrastructure, water security systems, and local production capacity that support long-term resilience and improve quality of life.
